The brand name of dairy products “CHELLO” was born in 1995, at Kompitiya, a very remote village in Rathnapura district.From humble beginning as a small-scale domestic enterprise, “CHELLO” has become one of the most respected and trusted brand of dairy products of Sri Lanka today.

The founder of “CHELLO”, Mr. Kapila Ruwan Bandare, a very young and enthusiastic businessman would have never believed in 1995, that he was starting to write a new chapter in Sri Lanka’s business history, when he stared his business journey setting up a small scale ice lolly plant.

For a period more than 5 years “CHELLO” had to experience very huge difficulties and hardships with the help of his family members, the young entrepreneur was able to boost his business and within a decade the demand of “CHELLO” products outstripped manufacturing capacity. The company thereafter decided to switch on to mechanized manufacturing with a very hygienic quality and in 2002 its first mass production facility was moved to a more spacious location where resides to date.

At the dawn of 21st century the young entrepreneur, who was only 26 years old, started to expand the production and distribution in a mass scale to meet the need of the dairy market in Sri lanka. “Give the consumer superior taste with best quality at an affordable price” was the vision of young founder chairman Mr. Kapila Ruwan Bandara, what differentiates “CHELLO” from the others is its policy of using best quality ingredients and advanced processes with no compromises to ensure superiority in products that are delivered to the consumer.

Now the “CHELLO” has reached to its peak furnishing with job facilities for more than 300 employees under the flag of “CHELLO” and the brand of “CHELLO” is not only a symbol of dairy products in Sri Lanka, but is an essential part of the business of this country.

“CHELLO” Dairy Products (Pvt) Ltd was established at Kompitiya, Godakawela in the year of 1995 as a very tiny domestic enterprise. The key strength in its above history has been its emphasis on quality. From the beginning of “CHELLO” has to based on quality, which has in turn built trust and loyalty among generations of consumers.“CHELLO” has now become its peak giving more than 300 employees for facilities.
“CHELLO”learning from the bitter past not only revamped the organization but adhering to the modern trends has infused young blood to management with the professional skills. Finally I would like to share the glory of “CHELLO” with my family members, directors and employees of the firm.They key–strength throughout “CHELLO”s history has been its emphasis on quality and I should further declare “maintaining quality” standards is our religion.
